invention companies

Marketing new Products:

If you want to get the attention of companies to license your product, the first thing you need to do is actively search for companies that are seeking to purchase and/or license inventions. Fortunately, the days of chasing companies by going door to door are over, however, these days it is becoming increasingly difficult just to reach a human being. On the rare occasion that a company does express interest, most inventors find that they fall short in legal representation and are cornered into a weak bargaining position.

While this can often be discouraging, there are a large number of emerging companies that are bringing a new philosophy with them. Many of these companies refuse to keep their product base narrow. Instead, these companies are motivated by diverse and innovative products, especially problem solving devices.

This philosophy allows for natural development and expansions when compared to companies that do not adapt their policies to create a more conducive environment for individual inventors. Popular examples of companies that have become very receptive to new products or improved products are those that produce exercise equipment. Many companies that follow this ideology publicize their toll free inventor solicitation numbers, often in mail order catalogues. Other companies such as the Home Shopping Network carry with them the ability to take a new product and make it an overnight success. Such companies are constantly on the lookout for individual inventors who have a product worth supporting.

In the past, companies such as the Home Shopping Network would refuse to market a product on air unless it had been previously developed and marketed. This stipulation created a crux for many individual inventors who did not have the resources to even begin manufacturing. After learning that they could multiply their profits by bringing an invention directly from conception to market, companies changed their policies to become more open to inventors. Many companies now prefer to unearth new products while they are still in an undeveloped stage, ironically the stage that most individual inventors get stuck in.
